SUZUKI SETS ALL-TIME SALES RECORD IN 2005 IMPRESSIVE 28% SALES INCREASE IN DECEMBER
- All-New Grand Vitara, Popular Forenza Family Lead Suzuki Sales in 2005 -
BREA, Calif. (January 4, 2006) - American Suzuki Motor Corporation (ASMC) today announced a record setting sales year in the U.S. in 2005 with total vehicle sales of 82,101 – an 11 percent increase in total vehicle sales over 2004. Suzuki’s sales total in 2004 was 73,946 vehicles.
Suzuki capped off it record setting sales year with 6,662 units sold in December, representing a 28 percent increase over December 2004.
ASMC’s impressive sales record for 2005 was led by the top-selling Forenza family of vehicles with 41,394 units sold in 2005 – a 67 percent increase over 2004. In addition, sales of the all-new Grand Vitara jumped up an impressive 316 percent over last December’s numbers.
“We are proud to have set a new Suzuki sales record in the U.S.,� said Koichi Suzuki, president of American Suzuki’s Automotive Operations. “The increasing popularity of the all-new 2006 Grand Vitara and the continuing sales growth of the Forenza models have helped us achieve a record sales mark this year and have set the stage for a strong 2006.�
Suzuki’s expanding product line in the United States includes the media-acclaimed 2006 Grand Vitara, which started arriving in dealerships in early September, the popular Forenza sedan and Forenza wagon, the five-door Reno, the Aerio and Aerio SX, the Verona and the Suzuki XL-7, the most fuel-efficient seven passenger SUV sold in the United States.

Love my '99 Trackick. Almost bought an Aerio...settled on a Focus. I even kinda like the new GV (the Mrs. thinks it might be her next car). As for Veronas, and Renos that helped w/ that record...rebadged Daewoo's.
