I just read Hagan's 9" build write up and I know that you did something simler. Would you mind doing a write up? I would be interested to know If you did it exactly the same or what and how you guys like it. ...
Thanks

Whats up Kevin. I considered doing a Z-World write up but it would be basically the same. The only difference in my 9" and his is where they came from. Mike adapted a stocker 9" to fit his Tracker, and I bought a used Currie 9" off of a rock buggy that was going to a wider axle.
We, or I should say, Mike (with a little help from me) put it in over a weekend when we were not buzzing around the trails of Apple Valley Farms ;D
The only major differences is what parts were used for brakes, axle shafts, and Mike trimed some off of the bottom of his 9" for better axle clearance.
Quick basic run down:
1- all conflicting bracketry was removed from the 9"
2- all bracketry was cut/removed from the stock Kick axle and welded into place on the ford 9"
3- install 5.83's
4- make the brake lines work (<---- Hard Part)
My 9" was made to Jeep wide track width, wich is 1.5" short of a Kicks axle width. So we used 1.5" spacers on each end to make the axle end up a bit wider than the stocker.
I absoutely love mine. I was breaking rear shafts loke twigs and have not had to worry about them since the 9" was installed. (and I can use a heavy foot to get me out of bad situations now) 8)

What did you use for the upper V link and the part that attached to the rear end? Did you use the Calmini stuff or did you make it w/ a jonny joint like Mikes? And if you used the Calmini stuff did you have to weld it to the 3rd member or the housing?

I've also been heavily reading these upgrades, including how to widen the front end. Very interesting stuff.

On Zigs we used the Calmini upper bracket and made a bracket that mounted on the housing.
