Title: Front Wheel Stud Replacement question, (hello everyone again)
Post by: bashzuk on January 06, 2006, 07:37:25 PM
Just went to les schwab to have a tire balance and one of my front wheel studs is busted.

I did a search and found out the size I need but I am looking for good instructions on replacing the wheel studs.

Anyone have blow by blow instructions on how to replace a front wheel stud?

;) Remove wheel. Remove brake caliper. Remove brake rotor. Knock out broken stud with bfh. insert new stud, line up splines. Whack it in with large brass driver or equevalant (sp?) and bfh.

Do a search for wheel and studs at Ack's FAQs (the link is in my signature, below)

Hope this helps!

Did just what you said.......the stud backed out 1/2 inch and ran into the I think gear/sensor wheel for the ABS system......so I suppose i have to remove the wheel bearing and everything else?
