Title: Fuel filter location
Post by: paps133 on January 08, 2006, 07:22:23 AM
Hey guys, i've got a stupied question.

I'm trying to firgure out where my fuel filter is. Is it the black pop can looking thing mounted in front of the fuel tank. ??????

I've also got another problem, the black pop looking thing is leaking where the fuel line is connected to it. I've figured that its the copper bushing. But its sunday and nothing is open, and i need my tracker to go to work tomorrow. I was wondering could i just put a different type fuel filter in, and just cut that one out. Thanks for your help.

Its the gold looking can in this picture and I would try to swap out the stock one, get some new washers and carefully put it on tight.

Well the stock fuel hoses are threaded and the EFI fuel pressure is pretty high....
maybe crawl under and see if you can tighten (losen it up 1st) the fittings, then add a new one w/ new washers on Mon.......how bads it leaking?

it's leaking pretty good, so what ur saying is i would be wasting my time putting in one of those plastic ones in.

I've got the hose, for the fuel line. but it's the filter i'm worried about popping. thanks

Even the hose has to be EFI rated, reg fuel line for carb'ed use runs at under 10 psi while EFI runs 50-80 psi

Mines a '96, your location may vary based on type of EFI or carb...
