My samurai seems to leak oil like nobodies . I can tell it is leaking out the back at the distributor, is this a pretty east fix, just a matter of an o-ring and setting the timing again? The plus side is that it undercoats it nicely.

that is an easy fix.
1 o-ring at housing and 1 o-ring on the distbutor shaft.
i recommend you do them both.
if you call hawk they'll sent them through the mail in an envelope.

Is this an area where torque specs are picky? Or just do it by feel?
-
any time a seal is involved make sure u use the torque specs wel as close as u can.

The o-ring is 09280-56004 (D: 1.9 ID: 55.5)
and the valve cover gasket is 11189-82600

I replaced mine last night and couldn't believe how hard the old o-ring on the housing was. It was like a hard piece of plastic, rather than a rubber ring.

I found a local hydraulics shop and bought 10 of each. I work on more than one zuke and $4 wasn't alot of money. These guys are right there and have come in handy more than once.
Those little o-rings can really make a mess.

Besides replacing the o ring, I used a rtv based high temp gasket maker on the mating surfaces and it's never leaked again, 40k and still dry.
