Title: diff removal

 ;D whats the easiest/simplest way to remove my whole front differential and axle housing assembly? will removing the 4 u-bolts enough??

and sway bar if still connected also brake lines and shocks also driveline.
  what is the purpose of the pull?

thanks bash, my 410 still uses the original front drums :(, just want to upgrade to discs

Are you thinking of upgrading to disks by swapping the whole axle assembly from the SJ410 to a Samurai housing? This wouldn't be that easy to accomplish (is not a direct bolt in) because the axle perches are not in the same location. Also the Samurai axle is wider than the SJ410 so you would have a difference there. Also, the gearing is different your SJ410 as 3.93 or 4.10 gears (if I recall correct) and the Samurai has 3.73. However, I believe though that you can interchange all of the outer hub assembly and spindle with the disk brakes from a Samurai to the SJ410 axle assembly.

Another option would be to find a complete set up from an '85 they had disk brakes.

ebewley, i'll be using the axle assembly  from a later model 410, maybe it's from an 85 ;D, thanks
