Title: 1.6 conversion

i am planning on putting in the 1.6 into my sami bc i blew the 1.3 and want more power. i was wondering if my sami trans is a direct bolton to the 1.6 or will i have to buy an adapter?

You will need an adapter. You will also have to use the 1.6 starter and alternator. You should be able to re-use your manifold and exhaust.

 call hawk, or trail tough. there is a little more involved than a bolt in.

If you have the $$$ and can find a complete 16valve 1.6L, its very worth going to Trailtough, getting the wiring harness&adaptor kit (along with an electric feul pump) and doing that swap.  I LOVE THE 16valves power and will NEVER EVER run a carb again.  Also trailtoughs support is AWESOME and the harness made everything ultra easy.

Personally I opted for the Petroworks adapter kit...ya, it's a little more expensive but it's got thr ultra strong circular motor mounts and the kit lowers and tilts the engine just a bit to clear the hood without the need for front clip body lift.
Do your research... TT does have the deal on the harnesses tho'

They are actually running a special on the Harness and Adapter Kit through the end of January. About $200 off the normal price.
