Title: 1994 Sidekick -Gas Gauge Not Working-
Post by: blackss on February 03, 2006, 11:57:18 AM
I have a 94 Sidekick I just bought and the gas gauge doesn't work.  It's almost full and it reads under the "E" mark.  Is there a common problem with this or somewheres I can start looking for a problem?  Thanks

I think I would start out with checking the wires on the sending unit.. Also look behind the drivers side tail light to see if the plug-in and wires are in good shape...

Either the sending unit is bad, or it isn't getting power. If my memory serves me correctly when the ground is bad it reads full, all the time. Found this out the hard way on my old Blazer.  :P

I seem to have a 'similar' problem, but I think my issue consistes of the fuel gauge not showing the proper ammount of fuel left in the tank.  Maybe it's just me, but when I fill'er up at the pump, I usually only fit about 8 gallons (from E), when I'm pretty sure there SHOULD be space for 11 gallons.
