Title: What gasket do I need between the manifold and cat converter?
Post by: keith on February 03, 2006, 07:41:20 PM
What type of gasket goes between the exhaust manifold and the catalytic converter?  At Autozone they said a donought type on went in there.  I don't think that is correct because the downpipe is two pipes at the top that go into one.  Also I seem to see remnants of a flat gasket on the truck.  I have an exhaust leak in that area and can see that the gasket is broken.  Also I was missing 1 bolt and another was very loose.  Is there anything special about those bolts or can I get them at a hardware store?  Thanks.

Advance Auto had the gasket I needed.  It was $2.00!  Now I'm back on the road.  Advance Auto had a much better setup for finding parts than AutoZone did, plus the had the gasket in stock.
