OK last weekend I swapped out my aluminum housing & 3rd for a steel GV unit with a 26 spline carrier from a sport. during installation, instead of just changing the passenger CV right out I just changed the 26 spline cup that goes into the axle housing with one from a X-90. Everything seemed to swap straight over no problem. The next day the guy from the shop were I did the work, said he couldn't put the 22 spline cup onto the X-90 CV saying it was too small. He didn't try hard enough to make it fit, he just called me the other day saying he thinks we made a booboo with that swap.
Anybody know if there is a difference in size ?
Thanks

the 22 spilne will fit in but will not engage the spline :'(

are you using a GV center or a vit center? A Vit/x-90 26 spline stub axle will go into a GV center, but will stick out more as the shaft/spine is longer than a GV stub axle.

I had a problem swaping a 22 spline cup to 26 pline cup,i just had the the inside of the 26 spline machined.I think the diffrence was about 0.5mm between the two inside diameters.

I just threw it all away and put 4Runner axles in... ;D
