Title: 99 vitara differential slipping
Post by: chard on February 08, 2006, 12:48:31 PM
i have yet to find out what the real problem is with the front diff. I sounds like it skips a tooth with a big clunk noise. Does any one know?

Welcome to Zukiworld.

I haven't had any problems like this with mine.  It would probably help if you explained your problem a little better.  Does it happen when you are engaging 4wd, all the time, only at certain speeds etc.

Sounds like you have a broken ring or pinion... or spider gear in the front diff..

I would make sure it isn't your CV's though....
