I just wanted to get acquainted here and let everyone know who I am.
My name is Ellen Dunsmore, and I'm a certified Suzuki sales consultant at Five Star Suzuki in State College, PA. I've been working for the dealership for almost 2 years now, and I'd love to be able to help you guys out with anything I can, whether it be sales, service, or parts.
You can see our current inventory on my website at
http://www.ellenatfivestarsuzuki.com
What you don't see on my website is a 1984 SJ with 32,000 miles and a 1994 Samurai with 50,000 miles (dark blue and black two-tone with both tops) that are in our showroom. Both are for sale, have to talk to the owner about prices though.
We have a full service and parts department as well, so any questions I can answer or find the answer to I will.
Hope to hear from some of you guys soon, give me a call at the dealership, email, or just stop in if you're in the area!
-
Welcome to Zukiword :) That's a very nice offer Ellen, how is the reliability of the new Reno? I like the styling but it's heritage makes me a little nervous.
-
Hey Ellen,
Welcome to Zukiworld :) It's nice to see some dealers actually care for their customers ;) It's a great offer you do and a very nice page you built.
Have a look around and see what we do with our cars we use them for what they were built for ;D
Have fun here and Welcome again
-
Hi Ellen!
Welcome!
We, uh, tend to "modify" our Zuks a wee bit!

Thanks for the kind words...I've been on this page several time, actually I was on last week looking for an original picture to put on the background of my business card...if anyone has a good picture (I'm sick of the standard suzuki symbol and the 3 SUV's and the Aerio) send it to me. I want to do something different and I figured this is as different as it gets for Suzukis...
As for the Reno, it's basically a hatchback version of the Forenza sedan. I sold a huge number of Forenzas last year and have no complaints so far. It's the same engine and transmission, but the tranny linkage is a little different. The options are basically the same among the 3 trim levels. It's a nice little car with a new look for us, it's working so far.
I know there's hesitation because of the Daewoo connection, but something that people have to understand is that Daewoo did not make a bad car. They were great cars and good prices. The problem was the dealer networking of Daewoo. They just didn't have the number of dealerships and promotion needed to build a successful franchise. The cars themselves had no problems, and now that GM and Suzuki are manufacturing the Verona, Forenza, and Reno there are no problems finding parts. Suzuki isn't going anywhere, so have no fear!
-
Well Shoot, Ellen!
We ALL wanna be rock stars!
What did you have in mind?
From the "before" pic:

Alright, not bad...lets have a little contest. Post your pics and whomever has the wildest pic will go on my new business card for this year...
-
Now if we could access an online parts catalog for Suzuki like some other brands allow that would be way cool 8)
-
Okay then, not the wildest, but my wildest moment until now that was captured ;)

i really this that if anyone should have there picture on a business card at a zuk dealership it should be one of the orignal zuk builders(Mike, Zig, Eric, ect). they are the people that made zuks what they are today and i thank them for paving the way for us "newer" zukers. just think of what life would be like with out a cast front diff. :o ;D

that tracker is awesome, is the front window cracked from a roll? the pass. door looks pushed in at the top too..
anyway, nice to see you having some fun with your truck and giving it a good workout time to time  ;D
how is it with the stock gears as a daily driver?
Andrew
btw, where the hell is the rear license plate? is this just a bush buggy???

it was rolled before my father got his hands on it.(then I got my hands on it ;D)
stock gears and 34s make for a off road only combo.  upsizing tires 8 inchs is not a DD kinda thing.  if i had money then i would put 5.83's in it but for right now its a 1500 dollor budget beater.  but thanks for the complaments(sp), don't get many of them ;)
stu
Edit: i can't wait to put some suspention lift in it ;D

Ok, I really like the stock and not stock picture...that's definately a finalist.

As far as parts go, it depends on what you need and what I can find in the parts catalog. I'd love to be able to post an online catalog, but the reason Suzuki doesn't I guess is because there is an online program for dealers called SCAT that has a service section where we go to look up parts and service questions. I can't really put that online as I'm not really even supposed to use it unless absolutely necessary.
What kind of stock parts do you guys need? As far as aftermarket parts, you guys probably have more access than I do. The only aftermarket parts I have access to are from Suzuki Works Techno, the new design company for Renos, Aerios, and I think they're going to do the XL-7. Let me know if you need a part, and I'll get you a price. I guess that's the way to do that. Email me the year and model, the part you need, and I'll have my service manager look up the cost of the part on SCAT and see what we can do.
-
I'm assuming that if you could provide them, XL-7 front cast iron third members and GV Steel front diff housings would be quite popular here ;D
-
Here's my Xl-7 |removethispart|@ paragon

Well, I'll never beat Hagen, and those "flying lunatics" up in the Twin Cities - I think those cold winter's do something to their brains! But for me, Suzuki's are just "the way to get around". This addiction started in 1991, when we bought our first 4-door Sidekick. Living at 9,000 feet, in the mountains west of Denver, a reliable, economical 4-wheel drive is required equipment. When I flew my Plymouth Sundance (the rocket) off a cliff, we got the 92 4-door Sidekick. In 95, we traded both our Kicks in on a pair of 1995 4-door Sidekicks, and in 1999, my wife traded her Sidekick in on a Grand Vitara Woo Hoo Hoo! V6 Power!
In January 2002, I bought the Gnewt, my 1995 2-door trail rig, on ebay. That's 5 Sidekicks, and 1 GV. But I am nowhere CLOSE to holding the record for Suzuki products purchased.

Hello and welcome to the Zuk World!
Ok, I really like the stock and not stock picture...that's definately a finalist.
Here's an idea....wht not get Suzuki to crank up production on some more of "stock" sammies so we all can make some new "not so stock" versions. ;D Mines getting kind of rusted out underneath.

Ok, I have the pics of the 94 Sammy, but how do I post them? Do they have to be online or can I upload them somehow?
-
1) save the pic into a folder where you can find it again
2) click the "browse" botton on http://www.eye-irritant.com/upload/
3) find the file you saved in step 1
4) click "upload"
5) copy and paste the name it gives your pic onto a post on zukiworld and the pic should show up.
It should be in a format like [img]blah blah[/ img] .. copy and paste that whole thing.
-

I want the 410, HOW MUCH (Drool) :o
-

-
They were both traded in the late 1990's at our Altoona store when it first opened. Both 1-owner vehicles that were garage kept and traded on newer Suzuki vehicles. I have no idea what the SJ will go for or if the owner would even sell it...I'll check it out.
-
Those are two SWEET lookin samurais!!! ;D :o ;D I can hardly believe the nice condition they're in.
BTW- Nice X-90 u got there wolf!

Thanks!
Those shots were before the 2" body lift, she looks more like this now:
Time for some bigger tires now!
-
So I got a Collector's Edition page up yesterday on my website and posted both the SJ and the Sammy. I also put Zukiworld and Zuwharrie on my automotive links page. I'm going to take some more picture today of the two classics to put up.
-
Wow, you guys have Samurai's on the showroom floor!! I've been trying to get them on the floor at my dealer for like forever. But, I am a Chevy dealer, so I guess I could only get away with a Tracker. Oh, and uhhhhh...they're all kinda trail rigs too.
Good idea paying attention to Zukiworld though. What we do here is good testement to the quality of your product. I was considering taking a management position at a new Suzuki dealer opening in my area and we said that all the LMS Zuks would be on the lot at all times for show-off.
-
You guys have another 5 Star Suzuki in Altoona, PA.
Both are President Club members too.
Congrats. :)
-
Yes, we have two dealerships, one in State College and one in Altoona. Two brothers own the dealerships and both have been in the Suzuki President's Club the past 2 years. We've done very well for ourselves. In fact, the Altoon store just got a new dealership a couple of months ago. We share an inventory as well, so if I need a vehicle they have I can go get it. It's works very well for us. Thanks for the kind words!
