Title: Ford wheels
Post by: zoomzoom on February 08, 2006, 07:09:21 PM
Is the backspacing on the stock ford 15x8 wheels, off a newer bronco, fit on a sidekick? or do things need to be modified. if not what would be your first choice for some junkyard junkers. thanks,
lance

I'm not sure about newer Ford wheels...

However, I have a set of full-sized Bronco wheels on my '88 Samurai shod with 30 x 9 BFG ATs and they work nicely.  No rubbing with stock axle and a RUF kit re-centered for a stock wheelbase.  Pretty generic SPOA setup.

These are aftermarket chrome spoked wheels from, I think, the early 80s that I snagged for $40.00 for a set of 4 at a salvage yard.  Exact center hole fit.  Not sure what the backspace is...

Do a search, there's several topics about this if you just look. That said, my first choice to look for would be 80's full size Bronco rims or rims off early broncos. Ones with big center holes, because they also had rims with small center holes that wont fit. The rims are usually around 3.5" to 3.75" of backspacing and work perfectly on Track/kicks...
