I wont bother going into how bad my last suspension was, but this new one is a RRO jp-eater extreme spring under with old man emu springs. Much better.

Any advice on what to do about the rust already appearing on the shackles?
-
nice lookin setup. I could be wrong, but it looks like your fron shackles are on backwards. I'm pretty sure they should be angled in toward the axle, not away.
-
Yeah they are on backwards, the installer didnt use the directions for the easy stuff he said. I looked at it for a while but the geometry doesnt seem to be different with the shackles backwards so i will just leave it for now.

That is the suspension that will be going on my Samurai...when I can afford it. ;D

Its a nice set up,
My total cost was 1000 for the kit, 40 bucks for perches 150 for the shocks, and about 700 to the installer. so right around 1900 bucks.
Thats the price i pay for being a house fixer-upper-guy not a car fixer-upper-guy

That looks really nice, excellent set-up!!

OK, I just figured you may hit the shakles on the bumper at full flex, but without a SPOA lift I'd doubt it. BTW, what kind of tires are those (Brand, model and size) Got any pics of it flexed out? I always wondered how a sprung under YJ-leafed sammy would do.
-
how much lift do you got in total? what size tires?
looks sweet , i hope mine will look the same when its done this weekend

Next time you need something done on your sammy let me know. Im right up the hill from you, and i could probably save you some money on labor cost or trade for some work on the house.

The tires are Gateway Buckshot wide mudders at about 30 inches in diameter.
It will be a while before i have any flex pics, have to cut off the old bumper mount tubes and move my brake lines first. The old brake lines were welded to these wierd drop tabs about 5 inches lower than normal so the fabricator didnt need to get longer lines.....wasnt a problem with the old non flaxible suspension, but with the YJ springs the top of axle perches hit the brake line tabs pretty quick. I have a big old pile of dirt in the back yard , and i got pretty good flex up until the perches hit the brake tabs though.
I do know that when you put 300 punds of concrete bags in the back that the ride quality is great.....:-)
RRO says this set up gives about 5 inches of lift, 2" shackles and 3" springs i guess. The front seems a little bit higher than the rear for some reason, but if i ever get a plow mounted i guess it will even it all out.

Thanks for the offer, I actually had lots of offers from my employees to do the work, but my insurance agent wanted the work done somewhere with Liability insurance.

if you don't mind me asking, what kind of tires are those? I don't think I've seen a swamper replicaa like those... or are they swampers?
