Hello All,
Has any one found a way to tint the windows on a soft top? I got some static cling tint from walmart...Going to try this on my new top.I know that regular tint looks like crap on the plastic windows..Any tips, any thoughts???
Thanks Tom K.

Black Spray Paint on the inside of the windows look good but the obvious fallback is you cant see out of the windows

Let's not go there...It's a brand new top!!!!

Cling type works great and its easy to do if you can take the top off first.

DO NOT fold the top up if you use the Wal-Mart clingy stuff. It seperates from your plastic pretty easy if you do. My top looks like a huge spider web right now where the tint got unstuck while taking the top down. lol

Clean the windows as best you can, then get a spray bottle spritzer and a squeege. Spray a *little* water on the cling film and the window, then manuever the film until it's in place. Squeege out the excess. Mine looked awesome when I was done (IMHO, of course ;D)

I have seen soft tops that already have tinted windows. I think that they are made by bestop. The neat thing about these is that the plastic windows are tinted to begin with so you dont have to deal with the film type having bubbles and peeling, plus thieves cant see in the back as easily ;D

how about actual spray tint? on my vw jetta i tinted the tail lights with that and it seems durable, but would it work on soft top windows?

I don't think it would last if you fold the top down, it would crack and flake off.
