Hay guys I just bought a 97 tracker 1.6L manual 2dr soft top stock with 61K on it Id like to lift it a littel i dont know what the largest tire i can fit without cutting the fenderwells right now i have some 32X11.5X15 on my sammy that i would use if at all possible just to put diffrent tires on the sammy i drive the tracker daily and the sammy in the summer just dont know if the gearing in the tracker would be able to handle that big of tire or even if i could fit it in the tracker
        Thanks

No cut, no lift - 235/75/R15
No cut, 2 inch susp. and body lift - 31's
I hear 31 is a good size for a daily driver. 32's or 33's if Its a trail rig would work fine but, it wont go anywhere fast in high gears.

thanks that helps in my decision on the lift and tire size but what about the gearing im worried that it wiont have the balls to get up and go in 1st im not to worried about highway cruising i do local driving on back roads 25 miles a day

You have a 16 valve 1.6, yes? It will do OK with 31's.... in high range, I can cruise around fine.. it's no speed demon, and I just have the 8 valve, quiet a few ponies less than you...It takes off fine in 1st, a little sluggish.. but tolerable.. I can still pull 5th gear at 65 mph most of the time, unless I get a long hill, then she will hold 60 pretty well in 4th... definately driveable.
I am going to 5.62 gears.. but only really because I found a set...
31's are OK... I would get a good clutch soon though... a good clutch will last, but if your OEM is a bit weak, the 31's will tax it quickly.

What about stock auto and widest without any mods and a full Calmini exhaust? Daily beater. Nice 92 Tracker LSi I got for free. I have done all the work on it for the past 2 years. $2000 they put into it and then dropped it. Runs like a champ.
