this is the second starter doing the exact same thing, starts fine above freezing, but the colder it gets, the longer it takes for it to catch. It just clicks, doesnt even sound like if fully engages, but with repeated trying, it'l eventually catch and fire right up. Not a battery issue. Last winter I noticed, it's better if I park facing downhill.

Does it happen all the time or just after a wheeling trip? It almost sounds like water/mud in the starter freexing the bendix (sp?) but after a few tries it breaks loose and starts up.

I thought it would be water, but it does it all winter long

The selonoid lube gets thick when it's
cold, you could try WD-40 to get the
thick stuff out
