Title: Questions Regarding Moab
Post by: feerocknok on February 27, 2006, 10:40:50 PM
How is it in Julyish time?  Want to take my senior trip there, but don't know if the trails are any good, or if I'd be hitting it at the same time as any events.  Thanks for any help!

The trails there are AWESOME! I don't believe there are any events going on at that time. Check with the City or BLM. One drawback would be that it will be pretty dang hot there during that time. Check a weather webpage for average temps and you'll see what I mean.

Jeez!  95-105?!  Lol, cervasa + 18 years olds + trucks = broken trucks/bad idea.  Wasn't sure cause I know the trails here get super dusty and hard to ride come summer.  Thanks for the help!

Well on the upside, there wouldn't be much dust. Most of the trails are solid rock, some sand, some dirt.

I went down at the end of June, the heat wasn't to bad as long as you had a cover on your truck to stay out of the sun.  Just be sure to bring lots of water out on the trail with you.  ;D

We rented cabins down at one of the camping areas.  Air conditioned, highly recommended.  Every day when we got back there was a spot to park the Zuk and the room was nice and cool.

Cabins look like the way to go then.  There'd be 4 or 5 of us.
We'd be there for 3 days.  Would a weekend be best?

Is there any theft problem out there?  Worried about leaving gear in the truck and such.  Plus, if I tow the Toy, I don't wanna worry about it.
