Title: Suzuki/Geo Engine Compatability
Post by: Poke on March 03, 2006, 09:26:27 AM
I am sure this is in here somewhere I have been searching for days seems like......

I just bought my Wife a 1991 Sidekick with the 5 speed to turn inot a Wheeling rig it is in awesome shape except the motor threw a rod and spewed oil all over started a small fire which fried the drivers side stuff a bit (mastercylinder and a bit of wiring  and slightly melted the air box and radiator overflow bottle.......

I found a 1990 Geo Storm 1.6L SOHC motor for free ......runs but basically the block as the guy wants all th extras (alt, starter, FI) so I will need to bolt all of my stuff onto it.....they are both the 1.6 Liter but I can't findout if the two are interchangeable will all of my motor stuff just swap over...........

Thanks Ya'll

Tracker/Sidekick = Suzuki
Storm = Isuzu
Prizm = Toyota

Tho the sizes are the same, the engines are by different manufcaturers. I went thru this same thing when I first bought my tracker. I found a prizm 1.6 engine for a little of nothing... but couldn't find a 1.6 suzuki engine for less than $450.

Good Luck!

Yes, the Geo Storm is an Isuzu Impulse the Geo Tracker is made by Suzuki...  ...The engines are from two different manufacturers.
