We headed out to Attica this AM (3 hour drive) and had a great afternoon.. the Tracker did quite well all day... I did find out it's no rock crawler.. (lol.. no surprise there....gimme time..)
Did FANTASTIC in the mud, and as always unbeatable on tight trails and packed hills..
I had never wheeled in sand before, only on my 4x4 ATV... so I knew it would rob power.. but wow.. I need more power! The lower gears are going to help a bit, but wheel speed would be nice on some of those hills... :D
All in all, This may be my favorite place to wheel so far.. I am looking forward to taking my quads back there soon too...
Here are the pics

I did manage to break a CV (or axle, haven't really looked yet) It was near closing time, and I was over at the rocks, by the quarry, surrounded by 15-20 Jeeps... mostly Cherokees.. and the temptation to crawl it was just too strong.. got it hung up on some rocks, had the right front spinning, and touched it down..pop... LOL..
No biggie, first breakage in 4 wheeling trips.. and it was basically avoidable...
I also managed to find some mud too.... a guy in a TJ about got stuck in the hole that did this to me..... I had to sling some mud... but I made it through pretty easily...

If you think the Badlands was good, wait till you come down to Daniel Boone forest!

Gah, love the expanded steel grill, looks too gnarly. Looks like it was fun.

That looks like so much fun. ;D

There is a site called ATVpathfinder, and they have the top ATV trail destinations listed (top 50 I think)
I just looked and realized the Badlands is #3.. cool.. Also, I noticed that I have now been to 4 of the top 6 on Quads, and 2 in the Tracker..
I think Coal Creek, and Harlan County are the tops... (so does the list...) but I don't think SUV's are allowed at Harlan County.. not sure.. Coal Creek is Windrock Mountain.. so far the BIGGEST place I have ever wheeled... 72,000 acres.!!!
BUT, for fun and variety the Badlands deserves all the credit they get.. it's one fun place!!
(thanks for the compliment on the grill!!)
Evidently, NAXJA was in force while I was there.. I should have gotten pictures of all the Cherokees... it was wild.. LOL...
Yep, next time, I am taking the quads AND the Tracker!!!

You can wheel SUVs at Harlan. Its my favorite place to wheel so far! Did you find the tunnels/tubes at Badlands?

Uhoh.. I am in trouble... I didn't realize you could wheel suv's at Harlan.. Looks like I am needing a bigger trailer!! LOL..
Yes, I found the tunnels at Badlands.. that is how we got onto the truck only section... by accident the first time.. all very cool..
I guess I will be hitting Harlan again this year!!!
Thanks!
