Got a question about tire wieght is anyone running the 33x13.50 Swamper LTB with 15x8 rockcrawler steel wheels and having issues with the wieght of the tire on stock axles with lockers?
I'm going to be buying these this weekend at the swap meet in puyallup.
Just looking for feedback on if these tires are going to be too much wieght on a stock engine with 4.62 gearing on stock axles.
here is a shot of my rig. it's on 32x11.50 canyon climbers

tires look fine see you at moab

I'm running those tire on that rim, not an issue,
but my 4.62s were not nearly low enough to have
any fun, even with the turbo, just couldn't get into
the power band, but on a Sammy, you should be OK

The Sammy will pull them... BUT, be extra careful when you are spinning them and drop them down on something with traction.. that is a LOT of weight for those small componants to handle...
Most trail breakage I have seen is with heavy tires and wheels, spinning in mud, and hitting a root, or spinning on rocks, and then getting sudden traction.. something has to give.. and it won't be the traction.. it'll be u-joints, axles, r&p's, housings.. etc...
Just use sense when in tight spots and you will probably be OK, lot's of Sammys run tires that big...

well doesn't look like it's going to be an issue I'm going with the 31x11.50 I've been told that until we buy a house the only money I can spend on the sammy this year is for tires so I'm going to go down a size less weight 49lbs vs 62lbs per tire so shouldn't be a problem unfortunately I know that I'm going to want to go bigger later oh well will have a set of shoes for that second sammy I'm going to buy :)
$97 a tire for the LTB 31x11.50 Super Swamper
97 x 5 x 1.09 for sales tax +$150 for warrenty = $680 with rounding = smoking deal for 5 tires
and anything will be an improvement over the all terrains I've been running for 2 years.
Ross there is no way I'm going to make it to moab sorry man.

That's a really nice tire choice.. that is what I use..
What wheel? Cause you can STILL break stuff with that wheel and tire... I just did.. had the right front spinning and set it down on a rock.. snap...... new cv axle time...
I got 4, with 4 15x8 Black rockcrawlers, mounted, balanced and shipped to my door for $710 from 4wheelparts....... should have ordered 5..... but I don't really want the extra weight hanging off the back of my rig....
I can run mine at 0 pressure if I had to get back to camp.. I run them at 3-4 in the rear and about 5 in the front... great tire..
