Title: Looking for 0-1.5 aftermarket leaf springs for 90 Sami
Post by: Hotrodzuki on March 09, 2006, 08:40:43 AM
I have a 90 Sami with a bent front spring, I am going to do a SPOA lift and would like to stay around 6 to 7" lift, but the only springs I am finding are 3" lift and that would put me at 8". I use this sami for farm use and am concerned about getting to high?!?!  ??? I need some input on tire size and how stable it will be at 8". I already use a 88.5 with a 5.5" Spoa lift and have bent the stock springs :-[ even with bump stops and only 31x11.5 tires. All help and input is welcomed, and buy the way price is an issue, I do not want to put $1000 in Leaf springs. thanks, Hotrodzuki  ;D

There are new Old Man Emu springs available at places like Hawk Strictly Suzuki, Rocky Road that are less expensive than previous models. Additionally, Calmini and Trail Tough has some springs made specifically for a SPOA.

There are also 1-1/2" rancho springs that hold up well to spoa configuration. They are sold by RRO and most big parts stores in the area.

The late model springs got friction pads installed. I believe other than that they are the same count.

The rancho springs will fit with any year leaf sprung sammy. If you go spoa with these and later on get some real bumpers, they can handle the load and ride well. These springs can flex well but for better spring life, you should consider front bumpstops.
