I noticed a clunking noise, much like a wobble comming from the front passenger side drivetrain components. Anyone have any ideas? It's only there when I let off the gas. it is unaffected by breaking or suspension. Sounds like a dull thud every time the wheel makes a rotation. I know my ball joints are almost gone. any other ideas though? could it be the hubs are getting loose? or CV joints? maybe front diff ? It happened once before about a week ago, then kinda went away, or I didn't notice it, came back tonight. The tires seem to be good(as in if you try to forcefully tilt them) I"m gonna have to rip it apart I guess. ???

I can think of some bad stuff,
like a missing tooth on the diff gears,
Bad CVs clack under force, like when
you go up on a roller coaster.
Wheel bearings make a rough road sound,
so I don't know what else could be
making that noise

If it is just a dull (muffled sounding) "thud" sound everytime the tire rotates it could be a bad belt in your tire. Have you hit any bumps hard recently? Shutch that tire with another on the vehicle and take off down the road, if the noise moved to the new location you have a busted bely in your tire. (Your not running Coopers with half tread are you?)

Is this in 2 wheel drive, or 4 wheel drive?
Do you have auto, or manual hubs?
If they're manual, are they locked, or unlocked?

Tires are new, it's in two wheel drive, no snow. dry asphalt, as I said before probably not the tires because it only does it when I let off the gas and not continuously. manual hubs, unlocked
