I am confused reading through what I need for the GV housing in my 93 Kick.
Can I,
Get the 5 speed GV Steel housing and mounts, with a steel third
Buy the new Trailtough front carrier for 26 spline
Transfer my 5.62's out of the old 89 carbed 1.3 kick to the GV Steel third with the Trail tough carrier
Get Stan's Yota axle swap kit welded up to 26 spline axle stubs
and put it all in my 93?
Or am I missing something?
Are all the front R&P's the same? bolt numbers and such?

Yes that will work, I'm running the Trail Tough locker and it works great.

Cool, I guess what I didn't know was if the GV third took the same R&P's as the old aluminum 3rd's..
I was going to go ahead and get the TT locker, but I don't think my stock CV's and housing would take it.. ::)
So I am waiting till I can find the GV Steel parts..
Anyone have any for sale? Can't find them at any wrecking yards yet..

It's in the rears where the GV axles get confusing. At some point, I think '03 the rear axles changed and are not the same as Track/Kick axles. As far as I've seen the fronts were the same from 96-05.
I've *heard* that '03-05 GV's all have steel front housings. Can't confirm that though.
Yeah, I have a '03 and no, I never remember to take a magnet to it and check.

That sounds all well and good and everything but where are people finding the steel 3rd's from GV's???
-
Well, I have a neighbor that has one.... the silly little #($* (no offense) has never had it in four wheel drive... I thougt about taking it out one night... housing, 3rd member and all.. think she would miss it???
(they are pretty rare at Wreckers.. I haven't found one yet...)

I thought the XL7 had to supply the steel thrid member, adn the GV the steel housing, or vice-versa.

just so yuo know , i fitted rear kick side gers into the front the gear is the same size just the spline, so you can convert yuor 22 to 26 pretty easy

There is an article right here at ZukiWorld that identifies which Suzuki 4x4 has the steel version of the aluminum TracKick front axle housing:
http://www.zukiworld.com/month_090103/feature_sidekickdrivetrainimprovements.htm
I found it by doing a search for steel at -- well, you know where...
This excellent ZW article describes the entire transplant process.
