What would cause a computer to fry right after start up, new computer installed

I am not talking Samari here, a friend and I bought a 91 tracker, the throttle body has been gone thru, new o rings in the injector, new plugs, wires, cap and rotor

open it up and tell us which trace burned and what pin# it is hooked to on the connector. that would be a good start.

Whats weird is that nothing shows on the outside of the box, when I returned it the company said they were replacing the one I had just put in, nothing shows on the outside of the other computer either but it smells fried, the new one didn't

Could be a bad voltage regulator or bad earth.

I have finially got the old computer open, I can see its fried below a thing that looks like a tin can it looks like it goes to the top left pin on the green box marked b1
