What transfer case options do I have for my 90' Tracker to get lower gears in it. I heard of the 4:1 Rockhoppers that Zig is running in his 89' and I tried to look it up online but really didn't get any good results as to wheather these are gears that fit int he 89-90 T-case or if it is another transfer case that is a direct bolt-in. Will a later model tracker/sidekick t-case bolt directly into the 90 tracker or will a sami t-case bolt on? Thanks for answering all of my questions, I'm rather new to the zuki world and I appreciate all the help.

Some 90 cases will fit these gears but probabally be smartest to just get a 91- 95 case. It will bolt right on.

What he said ;D The GRP grears are from Au and were expensive to get here. They were the only ones I could find World Wide that had the gears when I purchased them and had them shiped to the USA form Au. I'm not sure if they are still making them or not. It would probably be less expensive just to get another t-case (if needed, some of them will work) and use your existing tcase as a core.

Is there some serial number or way to identify if the case I have will be one of those that will work? Thanks

I would give Calmini a call and see if there are any identifying marks to determine wich one you have. Years ago when I bought mine the only way to tell was to crack it apart and look at the gears inside.

Let us know if you find out any further info. I have a spare tcase I think is out of an 89

Yeah there is a difference in the casting on the outside. The difference is on the input side below the input shaft. I'll try to shoot a couple of pics to help out. You still have to seperate the t-case from the transmission but at least you don't have to tear it apart to see if it'll work.

Thanks Eric,
This info will be good for ALL people wanting to upgrade their low ranges.
I know this bit us when we got the Calmini gears. We had to find a different t-case. Fortunately we had 3 to choose from.
