Title: 4wd Klunk
Post by: TysonS on March 21, 2006, 07:10:59 PM
Hey,
I just knowtused that when im in 4H or 4L and am turning at a full lock about every 2-4 full tire rotations i get a light klunk noise in the front end.

Is this normal?  It only does it at a full lock, if a turn the wheel 30 degrees the other way it stops so only at a full lock.

Thanks Guys

Sounds like it could be your front end binding.

If you are on solid ground, in 4wd, and full lock, something has to give. So it is probably the pressure on your driveline.

You shouldn't need to turn full lock under the conditions I mentioned.

Binding isn't noticed when your in snow, sand, or mud. Usually they will provide the "slip".  ;)

Try seeing if the noise is gone when in 2wd.
