Title: Just Starting Body Lift,
Post by: Jimiweld on March 23, 2006, 05:08:01 PM
Hey Guys
Just starting the body lift. I cut drilled and painted all of my 3" square tube last night, all I had was 1/4" wall in the shop so I used that. I just finished taking the front bumper off tonight and all the air conditioning stuff that I'll never use. Think I'll go back out and get the rear bumper off tonight as well so I can get the body lift done on the weekend. I hate all the rust we get up here on the cars, what a pain.
Just curious, anyone know off hand what outside diameter of tube I will need to extend the gas tank filler tube?
I think it looks better already without the front bumper!

I know on mine (97 4dr). The fillhose was able to just stretch enough to fit.

Hello,

If you got a welder,Lift the tank up!!!There's a section under archives that tells how to do it.Not sure if you have to have a welder but I replaced all the mounts on mine.I lifted mine 3" with a 2'' body lift.Makes it look better because the tank kinda hangs down after the body lift. Now you can see my rear housing. The tank is up in the frame rails.

X2 I'll be doing this when I do my body lift. Get that thing up and out of the way!!! Afterwords, I'm going to make a plate to protect it even more.
