My trackers tires are falling apart. Right now I have 3 flat tires :o. The rt front tire has a nail in it, and has a slow leak. the rt rear tire has a staple in it, and leaks a little faster(goes flat within a day), and then I replaced the back one with the spare, which went flat today, and went flat within 20 minutes. So I had to put the original back tire on because it holds air to a certain extent. I told my dad about it, and he says it is all my fault that it always has flats, and that I need to get the flats fixed at a tire shop($$$), when at work(the honda dealer) someone told me to get the plugs that you put in place of the nail or whatever made the hole. I really should replace the tires though, as they have seemed to be the worse tires I have ever had on a car(they are no name snow tires that are in new condition, but have almost worn out in 5,000 miles(not from poor alignment), and they dont work good in snow, even when aired down) The spare is also a no name tire(says "hurcules" on it) and is a 190/75r15, while the rest of the tires are 215/75r15s. I was wondering which tires are good for all around(it is a daily driver) and have decent puncture resistance.

i would get a set at big o. if you get their tires they come with a warranty and free flat repair for i think a couple of years. also rotating is free. not sure on all the details but the service is great. my buddy works at the one here and i go in there all the time. a bunch of nice guys. dont know how yours is where you live but i am impressed.

Ive been in the ones near where I live, and they are run by uptight hicks that employ kids that dont know what they are doing. One time the front tires on my moms car were wearing out, so I went in one to find out how much two new ones would cost. They told me to get some different tires for the front, and I told them that I dont want a mismatch, and they told me it didnt matter, so I left. Even if it doesnt matter, maybe I just want the same exact replacements for the hell of it. I dont like it when shops tell me to get what they think would work, and not even give me the option of getting what I want. That is bad customer relations and customer service. Either way, I will go into one that is well run and inquire as to what tires to get. I am still open to any suggestions on which tires are good. If I can, I might buy some from tirerack.com, and put them on using the tire machine at work.

Try to find a fairly agressive All Terrain tire. Look at Wal-Mart. For better puncture resistance, make sure it's an LT tire(Light Truck - LT235-75-15) and not a P tire(Passenger auto - P205-75-15) I have BFG All Terrain 235-75-15's for my winter tires, I find them great. I don't think airing down your tires in snow gives you better traction, I think it would make it worse.
You should be able to fit a 225-75-15 or a 235-75-15 if you wanted to go a little bigger.

Good/Year Tracker 2 real nice tire. The only place I have found them so far is wal/mart. LT 235/75R/15 about 85 a tire before tax and install.

I don't think airing down your tires in snow gives you better traction, I think it would make it worse.
airing down will put more tread on the ground in any condition.. yes airing down will give better traction on snow

Just a little tid bit... The Tracker tire made by Goodyear is a Walmart only tire. I found a set at Wallyworld and desided to check Good Years website about sizes available. It says right on the website that it is a named tire that is exclusive to Walmart. Looks like a decent tire for a decent price. The set I saw were just under 200 bucks for all four! If they were a bit bigger (I have 31's) I would have bought them myself! Tracker tire on a tracker....hhmmmm. Oh yeah, may want to stick to an All Terrian tire, my mudders wonder all over the place! Need to air 'em down!

I like Les Schwab. They run to treat you right. Popcorn, Beef, and decent tires too.
When I'm feeling poor, I check out the used tires.
You have to watch out a bit at Wal Mart, their lowest price items are usually not the ones you buy. The stuff you actually buy can often be found for less at other stores.

I just went through this with my Sammy and here is what i found...
I started with Buckshot wide mudders on a homemade SPOA. I found the ride to be brutal, the steering insensitive, and the MPG was about 19-21.
I switched to RRO jeep-eater YJ spring conversion with Old Man Emu springs under the axles thinking i would get a smooth controllable ride. But something was still off, the ride was still rough even though i could tell my axles were moving up and down much more smoothly. So i decided my tires might be too aggressive.
Now i do 98% of my driving on road and am about to start flat towing my Sammy 800 miles each way on camping trips several times a year, so on road feel is what i am looking for right now.
I shopped AT tires from Dayton, Cooper, and American(cooper rebadge). Cooper had a slick looking Severe terrain tire called the STT, but it was over 200 a tire istalled and had no mileage warrenty. Cooper also had a nice looking AT that i was about to get when i found a cheaper estimate on Dayton Timberline AT's.
Five Timberlines installed were 600 bucks even.
My ride quality is suddenly awesome, and my steering is tight, though off center because of my lift.... The softer road tires actually isolated so many of my squeeks and rattles that i was able to isolate the worst one, rusted tailgate hinges rattling, and fix it. My Sammy is more stable at road speeds, gets 3mpg better in all driving conditions, and handles rough roads without hopping around like a demented frog.
I realize im not going to get the off road traction of my old mudders, but to be brutally practical, i dont need it right now.
I assume the Cooper Discoverer AT would be similar, but in my area they are slightly more expensive, around 700 for 5 installed....

i vote bfg all terrains. they are good on the high way, and pretty good offroad too. i was out with a buddy in a stock s10 with cooper discovery mts, and i had 235 bft ats, and i kicked his but in every hole. we both had open diffs, and no matter what hole we hit, i would got through with less spinning then him. keep in mind his were brand new. they are a little more spendy, but if you do much on road, they would be a good choice

With the wheeling I do... I don't think I can find an all purpose tire.. I think I am going to have to go with two sets of tires.. Which will be really kinda nice.. cause I can get a GREAT riding set of radials pretty cheap, and I can get them pretty big, cause I am geared for it.. hmmm.. I still have my stock aluminum rims too.. Man, I just thought about it.. with these 5.62's and a nice set of 235's... I should be able to come out of the hole like a mutha.. 8) 8) 8)

The Goodyear MTR's area a great all around tire. They dont wander and ride super smooth. They also get great traction offroad in everything except the muck. There a swapmer will do better, but you lose all your on road handeling. They do well in light mud though.

I LOVE Les Schwab. I like their service so much, I bought my Goodyears through them. Granted, I had to pay a little "extra" because of that, but lifetime flat repair, rotation and balance, and the the service is worth it.
They have a lot of good all around tires. Look through the Wild Country and Wild Cat selections. I ran the Wild Country MTs forever, through three different tire sizes. Never got close to wearing them out because of the weight of the suzuki. And, they aren't that expensive.
Oh, FWIW, did you know that you can buy Calmini through Les Schwab? AND put it on their credit? :o

I have 2 sets of tires for mine. Bridgestone Dueler A/Ts are the way to go for a Tracker I think. I have used Goodyear Wranglers and they wore down very fast on me and I had 2 flats in 1 week with them on seperate tires. I have had the Dueler A/Ts longer and only got a flat once and thats cus a frikkn house key went through it, but they plugged it and its never even lost any air since. They hold air VERY well, they get awesome traction (I was a little mad that I couldnt spin the tires when it was raining into 3rd gear anymore), they kick a lot of ass in the snow, they do VERY well in mud and on dirt, and they are quiet on the road. They ran me about $60 a tire, but that was a couple years ago. They also wear equally. TireRack.com classifeid them as an offroad tire, but they can do anything! Right now, I have Cooper Cobra GTs on my custom wheels and th Duelers on the stock rims for winter or off road. The CObra GTs are strictly a dry road and wet road tire, horrible in snow, but when its dry its like riding rails into the corner.
Get Bridgestone Dueler A/Ts, I guarantee you wont be disappointed!

I've never had a set of Goodyears that wore well. Eagle GTs and GT+4s on an X-11 years ago, then on a Z-24 and a Cimarron all went out of round, cupped and just wore quickly. Went to a Michelin tire (XGT, maybe? can't recall the exact model) and pow, what a difference. Smooth wearing, lasted forever, great grip. Gatorbacks on my Corvette would feather and grab the grooves in the road as they wore. HORRIBLE on snow/sleet. Went to BFG Comp T/As, and then went through several sets of them. Smooth, grippy, GREAT in inclement weather, less expensive and wore evenly and slowly. Had Bridgestone Dueler M/Ts on my Trackers, and they were great. A little too noisy for me (although not all that bad compared to others), long lasting, great off-road, great in rain, not so good on packed snow. Siping might make them unbeatable. I'm running BFG A/Ts right now. Smooth, long and even wearing, quiet, good off-road, good in snow, lousy on wet roads, though. Overall, they don't suck, wouldn't be a bad choice.
I'll need a new set of shoes in the next month or so, and am leaning heavily toward the Dueler AT, based on my experience with the Dueler MTs, but we'll see. I'll for damn sure not be buying any Goodyears, though. Premium prices and not a single good experience with them. They may have a cheap line at Wal-Mart, but I'd be willing to bet you'll be getting less than you're paying for.
