Title: One brake light not working
Post by: keith on March 28, 2006, 07:41:27 PM
The driver side brake light is not working on my Tracker.  I have replaced the bulb so that is not the issue.  The passenger side works.  How do I go about tracking this issue down?  Please help I am no good with electrical gremlins.

go with the simple things first,, get a test light and check for power, if thats good check for a bad ground.. no power no light,, no ground that'll get  ya too..

There is a plug or two behind the drvers tail light that is for almost everything in the back ie. fuel pump, lights etc.

I would check and clean these plugs ( always dirty ) I bought a tracker that didn't run and all it turned out to be was that plug, power on one side and not on the other ( for the fuel pump)

Yeah, definately check the ground wires and the wires at the large junction plug just behind the driver's tail light. Corrosion gets in there and the wires will snap right off the plug housing...
