Title: Clutch cable stretching?
Post by: scottrodmn on March 30, 2006, 10:06:24 AM
I have a 95 Kick and have the Centerforce clutch in it. Ever since I put the damn thing in I have to adjust my clutch like every three months and I have replaced two cables thinking the cable is stretching. I got the other cables from Napa but now I got one from a Small local import parts guy. Has anyone else ran into the issue of cable stretching with aftermarket clutch or is it the plate being funky? It is frustrating as hell.

Have you checked where the cable bolts to the firewall? I had a 89 that was pulling through the firewall, had to make a wider plate for against the firewall to strengthen it.

Try "double nutting" the end of the cable.  The nut on the end of mine kept working loose.  Also I have only had good luck with Genuine Suzuki clutch cables.  The parts store ones gave me problems.
