I saw a suzuki esteem in the junk yard, and it made me want one. Since it is a suzuki, it is probably just as reliable as a honda or toyota, but it is different, and nobody cares about them like hondas, so they wouldnt have the theft rate or the rice rocket factor ;). plus, the first ones had the same motor as the 16 valve trackick, so the aftermarket cams would work with it ;D. I think it would be an awesome car 8).

I was always kind of partial to the esteem wagon, I will probably get one of those one day when i find an old one cheap.

The nice thing about them is that they don't hold their value (at least around here) so you can find them really cheap. The ones I have seen are about 2/3 the price of a similar Civic. And you're right, they're Suzuki so they'd be great!

I have never seen a wagon version. What are the years they made it? I think that these would make a great commuter/ non 4wd trip vehicle. I had a tercel 4wd wagon, and I loved the fact that it was a wagon, but the engine and transmission sucked, so I got rid of it. Due to the fact that it was a wagon, I could put stuff in it like my skis and still have room to carry passengers. There are some times when I wish I had the 4 door trackick, but I like the SWB one I have for manueverability.

The Esteem/Baleno are a great car, this is mine a 1.8 twin cam 3 door GTX.

The lady that I bought my 89 Sidekick JLX sold it to me to buy an esteem wagon. I think they are pretty cool looking
