Title: How in the he[[ do you change spark plugs on a 16V?
Post by: AJMBLAZER on April 02, 2006, 03:22:06 PM
So I went to change my spark plugs...and the only socket I have that fits the larger diameter plugs these things use won't even go in the hole. ???

What am I missing.  The FSM just shows a socket being inserted into the hole and doesn't even mention it in the description. :P

Do I need a special socket or something?

I just used a deep socket and had no problems.

Well, I also discovered the parts store gave me bad info and I can't reuse the 2 day old spark plugs from my '90 8V.  Time to go hit the parts store. :P  Maybe literally.

What's the width on the proper plugs?  3/4" or 13/16"?

maybe 5/8"   you have to have a good quailty socket to fit the sp hole.
