Are the blocks for the 8 valve motors and the blocks used for the 16 valve motors the same block?
reason I ask is I want to get the .60 over rebuild kit from Calmini for my x-90. Now I have an 8 valve motor kicking round so I figure I will use that block. If its the same.

Yes.
However...
This applies to the BLOCK only.
If I am not mistaken, there are differences in the crank, connecting rods and pistons in terms of strength with the 16-valve setup being stronger.
+.60 seems scary-large! Calmini has such a rebuild kit?? Perhaps there is more thickness in the steel cylinder sleeves for the 1.6 than the 1.3 block...
Hope this helps!

When i had Dave of asian auto make and engine for me he said he to date had not gone .60....

Shit,  Sorry guyz. .060 over not .60.  LOL.
I knew that's what you meant..
The biggest I have ever heard of on a 13. G13a/b block was .040.
.060 sound like a lot... but if Calmini sells .060 over pistons, then I guess it can be done.

its a g16, not a g13.
I wanted to know if the bocks used in an 8valve 1.6L and a 16 valve 1.6L were the same block. No different bolt patterns, everything the same.
