On my 2-Door, I need to do a full front brake job - I need rotors, pads and maybe a rebuild of the calipers. I think I want to upgrade them to 4-door front brakes since I need to buy mostly everything. What's involved? Is it just a matter of bolting on the 4-door calipers, rotors and pads? or is there more to it? Do I need the 4-door caliper mount, or spindals? Do I need to change the master cylinder and booster?
Thanks if anyone can help, I'm looking to collect parts soon.

buy a loaded 4 door caliper and it will come with the mounting bracket. then get some rotors and pads and you are good to go. you might need to trim the backing plate a bit but otherwise it all bolts together.

Does the same thing apply to the 1990 as well? I need to do a break job and I might as well upgrade to something better. Thanks.

Around here when you buy a "loaded caliper" it comes with pads. Not where you are? ???

You might benefit from the 4dr m/c. There are two different sizes fitted to the Track/Kicks. Try the search, there have been a couple of threads about this before. While you're at the junkyard, grab the 5dr rear brakes too.

I just did my rear brakes last year, they're still like new, they will be done when their worn. As for the 4dr m/c - is it really necessary? I don't want this to be too involved, just as if I was doing a normal brake job(whatever that is ::))

Just to add to this in case anyone else is looking to do the same thing...
Sean from aftermarket 4x4 let me know that he has done this swap on a few 2-doors and all that is needed are the bigger vented rotors and the calipers w/pads. The brackets are the same for both the 2-door and the 4-door. I'm making a trip to the salvage yard next weekend to get what I need, I'll be installing them shortly after. I'll take some pics of the swap and post them.

I haven't done this yet, as I haven't ever gotten a straight answer.
There are TWO brackets that hold the caliper to the spindle on my 93 Tracker..
One bracket holds the caliper, and that bracket mounts to another "bracket" which mounts to the spindle..
Suzuki calls one the Caliper Holder, and the other the Disc Brake Carrier
WHICH IS INCLUDED WITH THE LOADED CALIPERS?? I mean, I am sure it is the "disc brake carrier" but what I want to know is if the "Caliper Holder" is the same on both vehicles

I don't know Sean, but knowing of his experience, I'd have to say that if one was different he would have mentioned it, he said he's done a few trackicks..... and he aslo mentioned that he has a few sets of this upgrade(calipers and rotors) if anyone needed them.

Bracket 12 is the one that comes with the caliper. On mine there is no bracket 14 it is all part of the hub. The LWB calipers bolted straight on to the mounts (which are part of the hub). 14 is obviously the bracket that Wildgoody was talking about when he posted about his LWB brake swap in an earlier thread, I forget what he said about it though.

I left the shield off because.....
Is this okay to leave it off for a daily driver? I can't see it affecting anything.....

A lot of people over here (UK) take them off or make a bigger cutout in the bottom to allow stones to fall out. I might have enlarged the cutout but I found mine rubbed on the wider disc in a few places so off it came. I've not heard of anyone having a problem.
