Title: auto 4wd trans 2wd trans

Hi,
  Is the trans the same, can you unbolt the transfer case and bolt it to a 2wd trans.   thanks,

Can you just change the out put shaft?

From what I have heard....no.  I can't remember why though.

   You would have to break the tranny down just like you would to perform a rebuild,just to change the required parts.You would be better foo to find a good used tranny of the appropriate typr.
