by police. I am always being followed by police at night. I have been pulled over twice, one time for no licence plates (it has the window paper with the big number), and one time for running over the fog line(because the steering is kinda loose) The first time, I knew the sheriff that pulled me over(he is a family friend) and he asked me how every thing has been, and then he let me go. This last time, the sheriff thought I was drunk because my tracker likes to drift from side to side because of the sloppy steering wheel (it moves about 1.5 inches before the wheels move), but luckily, he was cool and believed me that I was coming back from my college class and that my steering is sloppy ;D ;D. I wonder if my luck will run out, because I have been followed more times than I can count, and it isnt just the sheriff, but the city police as well. I wonder if it is just coincidence, or if they are following me on purpose. Another thing that happens is that they will hide in my blind spot while I am driving on the freeway or on multi lane main roads. I havent had any bad experiences (yet), but it is certainly nerve racking ::) :P

At least you dont have the frikkn cops I have in CHippewa Falls, WI. I remember one night driving in a 25 mph zone going 25. Suddenly some car with its brights on gets right on my ass and follows me for a bit. My turn off was coming right up and I was gonna flick the guy off...... its a cop. Luckily I didnt flick him off. The cops around here are knonw for that shit, expecting you to speed up and then they pull u over. They also look for any frikkn reason to pull you over and see if your drinking. Last time I got pulled over, however, in Eau Claire, WI, the cop was the nicest cop Ive had yet. He was extremely polite and told me right away I was going just a tad bit too fast and he was only giving me a warning..... only giving me a warning, have a nice day. I like those kind of cops. They are rare around here, though.

but no one pulls me over because I dont blatantly speed and do stupid stuff
(unlike some other guys over here)

If you own a crappy car around here, you will be pulled over left and right. Luckily, I know the sheriff and several of his officer friends ;D. I will be getting a crappy car hopefully this weekend. 1982 toyota 4wd pickup ;D, needs transmission though ::). The early 80s toyota pickups looked crappy when new, so one only can imagine how bad they look now ;D. But that is the reason I am buying it, to have a pos that scares others with its beat up looks, and to use off road(but not to lift and put big tires on)

Anytime someone (cop or not) is behind you, you're being followed. ;)
Yeah, cops will pull you over for weaving, no license plate visible and a few hundred other violations. That is what they do (for good reason). The only thing you should be upset about is how they treat you. If they aren't polite and professional call their supervisor and let them know. Cops are just like anyone else, some are jerks. Believe it or not, the good ones would rather not work with the jerks.

I was in a coffee shop parking lot in a Home Depot parking lot and a cop pulled in went inside, came out and left. i didn't think he noticed me. 5 minutes later I left. Apparently he was waiting for me to leave and he followed me out. He pulled me over for not signalling when I left and again failed to signal a lane change. Half the people who leave there don't signal. It's a tough place to get out of and I forgot to signal but the prick was stalking me... :-\

What I'm pissed about is that he singled me out...he hid in the parking lot and followed me out. I drive a gasoline tanker truck and I drive super safe and I usually signal even if the road behind me is empty. He was obviously looking for something. It was just an excuse to pull me over. I was sitting in the Coffee shop parking lot having a smoke and enjoying my coffee in my Zuk and he waited for me. If he was busting people for not signalling why did he wait for me and why didn't he go back to bust other people after. if you sat there you could write tickets all day! It's like shooting fish in a barrel... I tried to explain that I just made a mistake as I always signal. He gave me 2 tickets one for not signalling out and one for the lane change you have to make quickly to turn right. No mercy at all.

I used to live in the Capital City of Northern British Columbia. POP IS 79 000. There was 80 cruisers and 10 patrol vans used for partol. This doesnt include all of the ghost cars and undercover. City also has surveillance camera's setup through the city. I have been followed many times, tailgated many times, charged many times, let off of charges a few times [ few ] and been accused of commiting offences I didnt do. I have payed plenty of bullshit fines and served lots of driving prohibitions that I consider to be horse shit. All I am saying is that its nasty living in a town of this size that has so many cops and things. I grew up in this town and in my case of being irresponsible and working my driving record to the way it looks today you get different responces from the officers. Some mourn you, some like you, some hate you, some tailgate you and make you nervous any chance they can, some accuse you of doing shit that never happened, some stare at you, some just pass you, some try and slow you down ETC. It goes on and on and on. I forgot to mention that 90% of my fines and tickets and suspensions occured within 10 miles from my parents house that I lived in for 7 years. My license has been suspended from the courts and is prohibited from the vehicle branch and is cancelled from ICBC. If you live in BC CANADA youll know what this meens. I cant recall a time [ excluding early morning ] that I didnt see a Police cruiser while driving through this sicty which takes less than 15 min to drive one end to the other! :-X

Speaking of Cops I saw something REALLY funny today. I was leaving the plant at work and there was a bunch of cops blocking the right lane of the main road. Great I thought must be a wreck. Some dumbass crashed. well I was kinda right. Seems a local POLICE OFFICER wasnt paying attention and drifted off the road a little. He then jerked back on the road only to over correct the other way. He ended up going sideways in the oncoming lane before overcorrecting again and sliding back off the road on the right side. Taking out a barbed wire fence and scaring the s*it outta some cows in the process.
I diddnt have a camera with me today or I woulda takin pics. After they towed away teh offending car there was 4 Sherrifs investagating the "accident". They did the whole painting lines on the skidmarks thing. Must have been VERY embarrasing for the city cop. ;D

i learned that my uniform gets me out of minor lapses of judment......on the way to work i thought I made the amber light and I never new my truck could make it up to 90km/h that quik...seriously!!!! he walked up and said " at least next time hide the uniform and slow down!!" then got into his car and left i was ina 60 zone. now that is a rare occasion that I let myself slip like that but I was tempted to keep the uniform in the car all the time.....another time I got pulled on a RIDE ( no I was not drinking) and he saw the uniform and said " you must have some storied to tell !! have a good night" it is kinda weird that I have a good relation with the cops as I was always scared but fully respected them....only had one that i lost it on but that was when he did the old starsky and hutch tire smoke turn and pulled me over to aske me where the interior of my car was....full on race car and he was a real prick until we got to court and I asked the judge to ask the officer to explain why he told my to shut the fuck up and he does all the talking not me. boy did the cop look stupid.

BigPig, you sound like my grandpa, no offense.  I see people run redlights, cut off people, throw a cigarette out the window, and have obvious things illegal on their car DIRECTLY in front of cops.  They dont get pulled over.  Im with Fullspectrum, he didnt signal, so what?!  Half the people in my area dont signal.  Its just ridiculous there are cops out there that can be that assholiness to give tickets for that, and that one gave him 2 tickets!  I can understand maybe pulling him over and giving a warning, a written warning would be pushing it in my eyes, but 2 frikkn tickets!?
Oh, I was once given a speeding ticket for 12 mph over and got a ticket.  The sheriff walked up to my car as I tried to describe the car I was trying to pass sped up when I was passing to make it harder, then I saw a car coming and hurried up (the oncoming car was the sheriff).  He didnt even listen, just said in a harsh tone "Your getting a ticket for this" and walked back to his Expedition.  I was only like 200 feet from my street too, I wish I didnt get stuck behind a slow car cus I would have ditched that cop if I could have when he couldnt see me over a hill.  Since they recognized that he was such an ass at the courthouse, I got out of the ticket completely. ÂÂ
Oh, and its true that uniforms can get you out of stuff. I was a security guard over the summer and the other guard I worked with got away with running a stop sign cus he was in uniform and other guards have told me the same with other situations. I still have the uniform, maybe I should keep it in my car at all times :)

Hehehe that reminds me of what I saw a few months ago. I was waiting for a red light at an intersection when a cop from the opposite came up with his lights on overtaking the stopped traffic and tried to make a left. Well it just started to rain a little and he was gassing it pretty good...He turned and fishtailed and spun right around facing the intesection again and the back of his car smashed into a Volvo. I had a front row seat... ;D Everyone around me looked serious and I was pissing myself laughing... ;D

thank yoo evolvocane(what does that mean) someone had too say it ....i have done some stupid things and yes I took each one too court hoping that i got off on some ridiculous technicality but when I did get convicted I deserved it.....if you drive a car and you do something wrong .........it was wrong! you can't bitch about being nailed for speeding when you were speeding!!! like the other member said(sorry forgot who) it is how they treat you when they lay the charge on you......it really is corny but drinving is a previlage(i know that has to be spelt wrong) and if you can not be resonsible then don't.....this coming from a one time street racer really does mean a lot since I have seen what it does too break the law for what ever reason. it may mean a little ticket or like in the recent years the multitude of vehicular manslaughter cases we are seeing.

With that said I was pulled over a few months ago in my chevy hevy half (8 inch lift) and it turns out it was a guy I built a comp. for and let me off with a rolling violation, still 120 buck but no points and I def. had it coming.
Ohh and here in michigan they can not write you a ticket for changing lanes without signal, I challenged it! ;D I try to use it when possible but was one the phone with an emergency.

Well I have to respond use the turn signal.
Anyway my story, about 3 weeks ago I was driving down the freeway and this cop got on the freeway infront of me. So we go about 1/4 mile if that and he pulls off the freeway then gets in behind me. Well I know that I'm getting pulled over because that's what they do to pull you over if you are behind them. Anyway I got a ticket for no mudflaps / splash aprons. Anyway taking it to court didn't know about the fender flares and mudflap thing since I see tons of rigs around here with the tires sticking out and no mud flaps. I know ignorance shouldn't count but when you see so many don't think to look up the law, guess now I will. So I got mud flaps looks really stupid but oh well and ordered the jcwhitney fender flare extenders. Going to get it street Legal and get it inspected so that I can say to the judge. I didn't know and I immidiatly got it fixed course I'm thinking that I may need a front bumper.

yeah I have too admit it really pisses me off when there is a cop driving behind the guy who ran a red light and the cop stops at it instead of chasing them....
or the rig that has the tires 6 inches when law in toronto is 1.5 inches and he pulls you over instead of the dude on 44's weaving down the road and the beer cans falling out the back.
I had a cop pull me over for not having my back seat .. say what!!! where is that f ing law....
or the best....i was travelling the speed of the traffic on the highway 145km/hr and I got pulled over no I new I was fu#$'d but when he said " are you aware you were doing 128 in a 100 zone?"........after I got the reduced ticket of 115 km'h I was going too ask why he did not tell the truth or was he blowing out his ass since he was not looking in my direction and he did not have his radar activated...( ai asked to see the radar he said he had cleared it already B.S)

I have no rear seat, but I dont think the police are bright enough to know that it had one to begin with, mostly because there is so much junk in the back that you cant see the carpet ;D

Thats just ridiculous to pull you over for no back seat. What time was it at, though? If it was late, cops look for any possible reason to pull some people over. I was pulled over for this little green light I had on the back, not gonna disagree it was illegal, but I had it for like 2 years and never got pulled over. Then I got pulled over at 1 AM, the cop sniffed inside, then mentioned the light. Cops do drunk driver checks alllllllll the time in Wisconsin.

Isn't that what the cops are paid to do? If the cops are "trolling for trouble" then those who don't cause trouble can go about their lives without problems from those who cause trouble. Maybe it all depends on your idea of "trolling for trouble". To me that means looking for those who bring trouble to others.

I'm actually not sure if you can adjust the gear lash in the steering box. I never looked. But I imagine there is, probably much like a chevy to take up the free play in the steering.

left work the other night and I was on the bike......full dirt bike w/head and tail/brake light only, full knobby's and knuckle bashers....I saw these light in my mirror and thought get the f off my ass.....then the cherry's lit up now this is 2 in the morning. so I pull off the road and stop the engine loud exhaust( super trapp and all discs in but has street packing ) and he walks over asks for id and registration....asks how you doing....I say tired from driving all day he says oh yeah driving what ......I say TTC bus driver...he asks for my work id I give too him he say oh you have a good night then thank you !!!!!
I did ask why he pulled me over tho....he replies....." most people drive striaght down the road so we thought you were drunk but you obviously are not ....

My dad used to be a cop - he said they rutinely looked for reasons to pull people over that drove "beaters". Said that they got a LOT of drunk drivers that way. Cops aren't supposed to "profile", but they do - they always will. Their job is to look for people breaking the law... so they get good at noticing things that are consistent with people who break the law...

They have a tendency around here to harrass certain people more than others,
and not always for a justifed reason....I have offten been told by friends and such in the force that offten times they have to make some revenue because of pressure from above.
I have no problem for them pulling me over for a just reason, we pay alot of taxes for that, and I support that 100%.
I also support the notion of stoping or eliminating troubles others can cause to me, but again for reasonable cause.
But again when they offten find a reason just to snoop...
(and they are acually told to find a reason at times, especially at night, again from a friends in the force)
My one buddy has been stopped quite a few times in this area for various reasons...
some were justified...others they were just looking to see if anything else was going on..
My family works for the force so I honestly haven't had much trouble, when Ive been stopped I was in the wrong for the most part...
but my buddy just seems to be a magnet for these kinds of things...which sucks...I guess alot of it has to do with the car you drive.
If it looks torn up, modified, or sporty they look at you more offten...
which is obvious as these things will catch your eye more offten than not.
