Title: found an unplugged wire, what is it?
Post by: carpmike21 on April 20, 2006, 08:49:41 AM
Hey,

I just bought my first Samurai and have basically no knowledge about them.  It's an '88, carbed, all original.

I'm having a hot idle problem.  Seems to happen basically at random where it will stall in traffic unless i give it a little gas.  Adjusting the hot idle screw just results in rpms that are too high part of the time and barely above stall part of the time.

I started looking around the engine compartment for bad grounds, connections and vaccum leaks.  The only thing I found seems to have no where to plug in.  It is a yellow wire, with a white stripe near the battery.  I started the car and my test light shows it has power while it's running, but I don't see anywhere for it to go.  The only thing I can see in the schematic I have of the wiring system that is yellow/white is the water temp gauge, but my temp gauge seems to work fine.

Does anyone know what this is or what it should be connected to?

thanks.

Nice to know that Suzuki had the attention to detail to let random live wires sit under the hood.

thanks
