hey
well the leafs on my sammi look pretty bagged out, im goign to be doing a soa on it soon and am wondering if it would be worth while to get new springs? what kinda springs should i get??

If you are going to do a SPoa, I would definately consider a YJ spring swap. They are longer, ride batter, and are readily available at any off road shop since many Jeep lift kits come with new lifted springs. I can usually find YJ springs fro about 25-35 dollars each used at local shops

what kind of mods need to be done to run YJ springs?

About all of the Parts Retailers carry a YJ spring conversion kit, some with springs some without. There are probably a dozen recent discussions about them that you could find just by searching YJ in the search box at the top of the page.
I have a RRO JP-eater YJ conversion:
