So guys,
My kick will have a 2wd gearbox and sammy trans box soon but that'll lower the gearing too much in high range so I'll have to compensate that to keep things streetable.
Would this require a lot of fabbing? or could I put in a complete R&P and eventually diff off of a sammy? Of course I'll have the front completely steel by then.
And Calmini R&P are to expensive to have shipped over here.

I know that a Sami Carrier will fit in a front diff of a Kick, so I would think you could use Sami Gears in a Kick :-/ Mike has fit a 7.5 in his Kick, so you may want to check with him and see what was involved.

Sound like the perfect excuse to get bigger tires ;)

do you have 4.62's or 5.13 gears right now? the sammy gears don't fit the rear so you will have to do something custom there. It may be easier to go sammy front third and a whole new rear diff from a different vehicle that offers the same gear ratios (Toyota or ford 9" maybe?)

look in the garage sale there was a guy selling all kinds of used thirds for trac/kicks. i'm not sure of all the different ratios that where available. i know there where more than 2.

5.13's is what I have now. Might fab something up in the rear with a sammy axle and a kick axle combined or something..... Don't know.
And Brian, I don't want to go bigger than the 33's I have now, too much cutting involved and my girlfriend wont be able to get in then ;D

I've been calculating on auto R&P's now and that'll bring a total ratio of 6.51 with an sammy tcase That'd mean 28% reduction where I need 20% Might be the easiest route ;D Instead of the 5.13 whith sammy case what will give me 40% (this is all in high range because I want to bring that close too stock).
But that'd be great ;D Thanks for the help ;)

Why not swap your R&P's for some 4.625's. This would give 1.4x4.625=6.475 and (33/27)x5.125=6.264 So there is not a lot of difference in high range between the Sammy case, 4.6's with 33" tires and stock tires, stock t-case and 5.12's. The small difference is actually a good thing as these numbers are always theoretical and in the real world the rotational mass of the larger tire and the wind resistance it creates will actually require a bit more gearing than the calculations show.

That's what I meant in my last post ;D Installing a Auto R&P (4.625) and a Sammy T-case would make the gearing close to stock with 33" tires. But thanks for the tip anyways ;D
