What are your impressions after the first 6 months of ownership?

We bought my wife's GV in March.  We've already noticed several annoying squeaks and rattles.  The center console cup holder lid will not stay closed due to a cheap plastic latch.  I also had the transmission reflashed per the TSB for rough downshifting.

My overal impression after 3 months is:

- it's a nice looking little SUV for the wife, but cheaply made
- the GV's V-6 is still a little under powered, but an improvement over the last generation
- gas milage is nothing to brag about
- off road capabilities are seriously lacking (crawl underneath and check out the exhuast system)

We would have bought a Jeep Liberty (better off road abilities and a more solid build) had it's seats been larger and more comfortable.

Yours must have been built on a monday. :-\ The gas mileage could be better however no sqeaks or rattles yet. Our drink lid works fine. we took the truck to the North carolina mountains and did fine in snow and with the altitude. I have only offroaded around here in some clay type mud and could did not get stuck however nothing serious yet. Installed a trailer hitch and a good add on pulls a small trailer well. I did not by this truck for serious offroading since we got the single mode 4x4 however I would have liked to see Suzuki offer the four mode in the premium model. I did not want leather seats. My wife wants some more aggressive tires, (good wife) for appearance!

We bought ours in Feb, and the only issue that we have had is the shipping coating got on the exhaust and stunk for a few weeks.  No squeaks or rattles, average to good mileage for the vehicle class (I get 22mpg mixed mode driving highway/city)  Overall have been impressed.

Oh yeah, another complaint is there is no iPod connection... :D

Picked up my 06 Luxury GV with IPOD adapter option in mid May.  I had the IPOD interface cable installed in the glovebox.  I can control playback (next / previous) and volume from steering wheel - stereo LCD displays song / artist title.  My friends are jealous.  ;D

what about relocating the exhuast so it comes out in front of the rear tires, maybe add a free flowing muffler?

What do you think could the exhaust system be modified to exit in front of the rear tires . duals would be nice would this void the warranty?

I've never known exhaust to void a warranty...

the muffler is in front of the rear differential so a good shop should be able to fabricate this mod this would help with the clearance of the exhaust
