first off i'd like to say hi to everyone here and like to add that this is a great forum ya'll have here.
i'm the proud new owner of a 16v '95 2dr 4wd 5spd geo tracker that so far has been pretty fun. i'm still getting used to driving a standard transmission vehicle again and that brings me to my question. at what rpms does everyone usually shift at? my manual says to shift around 20-30 mph for second etc... but i find myself usually shifting at around 4k rpms and don't really pay too much attention to the speed as far as shifting goes. i'm just concerned that i'm shifting too high in the rpms according to the manual i should be shifting more around 3k which i do sometimes but 4k just feels better most of the time. so any thoughts on this... yeah i know such a newbie question right? lol, don't worry i'm sure i'll have more :P

Is it a convertible or hardtop?

soft top and it's completely stock..... for now :D

4K for hard tops and 3K for soft tops ;)
J/K 4000 RPM is fine on these engines,
they really like to rev, I would just keep it
to 5500 on the top end, your engine will
last longer by not over revving when not
needed

That will be short lived ;D
Shifting. Good question.
I've never thought much about it and mine are both 5spd
So, SOmewhere between 3,000rpm and 4,500 rpms.
it depends what you are going for.
Milage-around 3,000rpm  nice and easy
Power- 4,000-4,200rpms
