Is this an aftermarket cross-member for Vitaras? What do you guys think of this?

rough translation of the text:
This product is manufactured in plate from steel and when what guarantees a high resistance to the corrosion and at the time was galvanized white.
This Crossbeam is super reinforced and put an end to the problem of trines of the original crossbeam!!!
came from this website: http://www.rc4x4.com.br/

I bent my crossmember the first time out. A better crossmember would be awesome. But I am cheap and enjoy fabbing my own.
I couldn't tell from the pics on how durable it really is.

I would guess it's for a 1st gen track/kick because they've been around longer and more stuff has been developed for them; however it looks like it would fit a 2nd gen track/vit as well. not sure though. THe only difference I've noticed in the frames of both is the front part.. middle and back of the frame seem the same to me but I haven't done much comparing of anything but the front ends of those frames
I bent my front cross member.. too bad I can't bolt a new one on... it's integrated into the frame... oh well, didn't bother it other than looks

have rod fabricate one for you. ;D

I think it is for the first generation Track/Kicks. I looked into reinforcing or replacing my crossmember some time ago. I think you would just end up with the mounting brackets on the frame getting very bent. A decent skid plate saves the crossmember, it allows the truck to slide over stuff.

I agree it's for the Track/Kick (AKA Vitara in foreign countries). E-mail them, Rodrigo works there and speaks english although it may take a few days for him to respond if he is on travel or something.

I agree as well, skid plate instead of new cross memeber seems like the way to go

So uhm...which crossmember does this replace? ???

Back of gearbox/tcase. The stock one is very vulnerable
