question:
i would like to fabricate an external rollcage but the problem is that my safari snorkel gets in the way.
has anyone encountered this? rollcage with snorkel?
thanks
-
you could always do a rolling offset on your cage to dodge that
-
You could allways loose the snorkel and incorporate the snorkel into the cage and just cut a hole in it at the top some place and weld a short piece of pipe to it for an air cleaner or two.
-
i would just ditch the snorkel, unless you like mud alot, it's usless anyway.
-
i do use my snorkel.

i was just wondering whether if somebody had tried fabricating an external rollcage while still maintaining the snorkel.
-
I have seen it on full sized trucks, but not on the mini's. More common is just to have people route the air filter through the firewall and then tuck it up along side the roll cage.
-
Yeah, the one I saw - the guy did some custom cutting / piping with his snorkel, and zip tied the snorkel to the front of the external roll cage.

Dave Jones still has some pics of his old 'Superzuki' that show his roll cage and Safari snorkel.

wow nicely built that superzuki. rhinoman, i cant help but noticed that you mentioned old superzuki. what happened to it?

Dave had a lot of problems with it after drowning it in a lake, he also had a habit of breaking front end parts. In the end he got a bit fed up with it and parted it out. I've fixed the link in my original post now, if you've got any questions about it drop him an email.
