Title: What is the diference between the 10 bolt rear and the 12 bolt rear kick's rings
Post by: garbage!!! on May 27, 2006, 07:02:29 PM
Hi guys, I have been reading around here and I got confused.
I have and 93/94 swb vitara and originaly I had the 4.625 gears and now I got the 5,125 from a LWB sidekick installed.
I want to now if the rear thirds are intertchangeable and if the rings are the same size? is the only diference the number of holes?
I think I had a 12 bolt rear right? but I do not know what I do have now, Is there a way I could know without opening it? The only external diference is the ABS mount holes and sensor on the third.
and the last one, I tought I knew for sure that the 10 bolt rear were bigger than the 10 bolt front, but I read in here someone is installing a 10 bolt front in the back of a 99+ vitara, is that right?

The difference is just the bolt pattern
and the carrier that matches it, I suppose
you could say a 12 bolt is stronger, but
who has ever blown out a 10 bolt rear ???

I wouldn't have thought so, the rear is a lot bigger than the front.
