Sorry, I just saw this now and it's too late, but don't worry Quadog, I live in Burlington and work 5km from Brampton, it would have been a shit box. These trackers/sidekicks get rusted quite badly here with all the salt we put down. I bought my 1990 for 100.00 and it looks ok from outside, but underneath there was no floor in front of passanger and drivers seat and wheel wells at back were totally rotted. I just took the winshield out and spent 4 nights welding in new metal along the bottom edge as most of it stuck to the window on removal. Most of us up here dream about going to the southern states and buying a rust free car.

You looking for a cheap Trackick?

Look into the south, particularly LA. Probably lots of good ones down there. Though, considered flood damaged and totaled.

There is someone on here that is/near the TX/LA border and has friends in the recylcing business. His avatar has his blue tracker climbing a rock face. I'll see if I can find him through scamming the messages.

we don't use salt here in victoria on the roads, only because we don't get any snow. ;D

and for the 4 door bad commment, i have a 2dr. for the trails and a 4 door sprort for the dd. awsome combination. the 4 door will become a trail rig in a year or two. it will get a mild lift and tires for now to get to some decent camp spots and such.

as for buying in canada, the exchange is not really good right now, i runa  bar in victoria and we offer u.s dollars at par with cdn. most of the west coast has started this in the last few weeks.

I'm not against 4 doors in general.  I'm very excited about the new Wrangler coming in a 4 door.  But in my mind this type of vehicle needs to be a softop.

quaddawg,  I believe it takes alot.  I've got a LWB samurai that a guy in the states wanted to by from me.  he researched it and found that it would have to get a certification from customs (which means complete search i believe), they keep it for like a week the guy said.  and there was more hastle involved.  so much so that even though he offered $4000us for a truck i paid $200can for, there was too much BS for it to be worth it.

ME TOO!

I wouldn't buy a trackick from Canada unless it was a 97/98, chances are if it's an older one, it's rotting out in the unseen areas. I would actually like to buy one in the US, preferable far south, in the land of no rust ;) I checked into shipping, clean title must be at the boarder 48 hours in advance, and most vehicle shippers want $1200, some private guys that do it for side cash wanted $800 - $1000, and it needs to roll, steer and brake.

When i bought my 91 GMC from a couple that were here on the outerbanks vacationing from canada it still had all canadian papers (still had canadian tags on it too) all I did was take the paperwork and bill of sale to NC DMV and they issued a NC title for it and gave me plates although they had to title it as a chev because they never sold a gmc tracker in the states :(
