Title: Whos going to the zukimelt?
Post by: FNG on June 12, 2006, 07:22:31 AM: just seeing whos going.I am going to try and go? Anyone have any recomendations or warnings about where to camp? ;D

Post by: LilRed on June 12, 2006, 02:15:22 PM: We're going! This will be our 4th year in a row. 5th if you count the 1st year we went and blew a rod in the Sami between the campground & Badlands. If you're camping, I'd recommend staying at the Badlands campground where the Zookimelt will be headquartered. If you're not street legal its great cause you don't have to trailer it back & forth to camp. There's also a nice campground north of the Badlands but I can't remember the name. I've never actually stayed there but have heard lots of good things about it and they have a pool!!
We camped out every year up untill last year. Now we stay at the Attica Inn. Its just a few miles from the Badlands and its just too nice to go back to air conditioning and hot showers in the evenings!

How does camping work I have a 20' enclosed trailer and planned on sleeping in it not sure yet though. Sounds like fun.

The Badlands Family Campgrounds does have showers and bathrooms, and yes it's a little warm during the day, but your out on the trails anyway, so it's no biggie. As far as no alcohol, they relax the rules somewhat for us during the melt, just be an adult about it and everything will be fine. If you have any more questions about it, feel free to ask me.

With the move from Chicago to Dayton, things got a bit scattered. We had hoped to get our lives back together by now, but we're still trying to sell the house in Chicago, and in shuffling things around, my camper is in storage an hour and a half east of Dayton, and the Tracker is in the garage in Chicago.

The 'Melt is a great time. I wish we were going.

Post by: Quaddawg on July 03, 2006, 11:56:35 PM: Well, I decided that since the Badlands closes so early every evening, we would go ahead and get a nice room in Crawfordsville at the Holiday Inn..Ã‚Â Kinda make two vacations out of one..

They have a nice pool, game room for the kiddo, restaurant/bar for Dad....Ã‚Â Ã‚Â Plus, I will have internet access, so I can keep everyone posted with pictures and a day to day.

We will get in Thursday, but won't go to the Melt till Friday.

Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, and leave Sunday..

See y'all in a few days!

We will be bringing a "newborn" star (hasnt got a star name yet) if we can get it togather in time. Hopefully I will get to meet a few more Zukiworld members again this year.

YES!!! ITS WORTH IT...

Dang!!! Seeing all the Trackers and Sidekicks and GVs that are going to be there makes me wish we could go... At our first 'Melt (01), there were almost 200 Zuks there and less than a dozen were Trackicks... That first year, we were box showroom stock, including the tires. We surprised a lot of people. We had a blast...
