Title: 3spd auto, difference?

is there a difference between the  89 sidekick 3spd auto, and a 92 3spd auto?

AFAIK not on 3 speeds, 4 speeds are different

 i just heard somewhere that the 89 ones were vacume opperated, and the 92 on were computer controled. i need to replace my 92 ,and all i keep seeing for sale in my area are 89 trans.
