Title: electric fan

i want to hook a toggle switch to the elecrtic fan on my kick it doesent come on even with the air on.i want to run a jumper to check the motor. do i hook into the wire going back to the compresser or where.   thanks

Run your switch to control the ground side of the relay.

Are you sure the electric fan still works?

*** Edit... nevermind, it's late and I'm tired... I re-read you post and you want to test the fan's motor. There are only 2 wires coming out of the fan. One is a ground and the other is positive. If you have a voltmeter that can check for continuity, probe each wire to see which one is the ground and hook your test jumper up to the other wire... Most of the time when the electric fan isn't working, it's because it's burned out...

if i do remember correctly, wire gauge may be a factor in this.  the two wires going to the fan are farly large and you will need a jumper wire that is the same gauge.  i tryed it with a smaller wire and it didn't work.
