Title: Air actuated carrier XL-7/GV
Post by: inphobic on June 14, 2006, 06:21:56 AM
Okay so I've got my Gv front axle now for the tracker and I am planning on using a Vitara shaft since I can't find any 96-98 26 spline tracker shafts. I am working on ways to eliminate the air actuator from the front axle. I have ideas on building a shim to hold it in place permanently or even welding the piece in place as well.  Is the carrier even strong enough to take the abuse? I have no plans of ever locking this front diff but the stock open diff didn't hold up either....

If I swap out to a standard carrier then the Vitara CV won't work because the shoulder on the CV is too long.

Any thoughts?
THanks, Jake

There's an article in the Arvhive section that may help.
